9. Joel: The Day of the Lord 7:05

"Blow the trumpet in Zion."
A locust plague becomes a vision of coming judgment and final restoration.
A call to rend the heart and prepare for the pouring out of the Spirit.

INTRO

"Blow the trumpet in Zion...
Sound the alarm on My holy mountain...
Let all who dwell in the land tremble...
for the Day of the Lord is at hand."

VERSE 1

Crawling from the cracks of scorched earth stone,
A swarm of teeth devours the throne.
Grain is gone, the vine is waste,
Judgment marches without haste.

Ash rains down where altars burned,
The sun withdraws, the moon has turned.
The priests are mute, the temple dry,
The heavens groan, but do not cry.

CHORUS

Before them, fire; behind them, flame.
No weapon slows this marching shame.
They leap the wall, they breach the gate,
Like midnight born of heaven's weight.

A sound like chariots shakes the land,
As shadows rise at His command.
The Lord Himself leads forth this host —
Not flesh and blood, but wrath and ghost.

VERSE 2

"Yet even now," says the Lord who sees,
"Turn to Me on broken knees.
Not with garments torn — but hearts laid bare,
And I will meet you in the air."

"Return to Me with fast and flame,
With weeping lips and holy shame.
For I am gracious, slow to burn,
And eager still for your return."

CHORUS

And afterward — a wind shall fall,
My Spirit poured on great and small.
Sons will see, and daughters cry,
Old men dream, and young men prophesy.

Darkness trembles, stars unwind,
And all who call My Name shall find:
A refuge in the mountain's fold,
Salvation where the trumpets rolled.

OUTRO

"And it shall come to pass...
that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord
shall be delivered."

Joel 2:1 & 11:

"Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand... and the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?"

Joel 2:12-13:

"Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil."

Joel 2:28 & 32:

"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions... And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered."
