"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely."
A heart torn by unfaithful love, mirroring God's relentless mercy toward Israel.
Hosea's life became a living parable of a covenant that would not break.

"Go... take a wife of whoredom...
for the land has committed great betrayal...
yet I will love her still."
I took her hand, though hearts were torn,
A vow in dust, a love forlorn.
She danced with strangers, veiled in lies,
While I stood still beneath the skies.
But I heard the voice that calls me still,
To love beyond my shattered will.
Love betrayed, yet love remains,
Bound by mercy, burned by chains.
I bought her back, though she ran far —
I loved her past the final scar.
Lo-Ammi cries with silent breath,
A child of sorrow, named by death.
No mercy left, no flame to feel,
Yet still I bend — and still I kneel.
She broke the promise, broke the vow,
But I would seek her even now.
Love betrayed, yet love holds fast,
A covenant that shadows cast.
Though shame was written in her name,
I called her home. I bore her shame.
"Go again... love her...
as the Lord loves the children of Israel,
though they turn to idols...
I will heal their backsliding."
Return, O Israel, return to flame,
Your guilt is gone, erased your shame.
I will be like dew on dying ground,
And roots of grace will rise unbound.
Love betrayed, but not undone,
By scar or sin, or setting sun.
I'll heal your heart, I'll make you free —
For you were lost... but still My plea.
"I will love them freely...
My anger is turned away...
And they shall dwell beneath My shadow."
Hosea 1:2:
"The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD."
Hosea 3:1:
"Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine."
Hosea 14:4:
"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him."
