"I tried to hold it in... but it burned like fire."
Jeremiah wept for his nation yet could not remain silent.
The burden of truth consumed him — a voice of lamentation and coming judgment.

"Before he was formed, the Lord had known him.
Before the womb, he was set apart.
To root out, to pull down, to destroy and throw down —
To build and to plant.
He wept for Jerusalem, yet spoke with fire."
I said, "I'm young," but still He came.
He touched my mouth and spoke my name.
He placed His words inside my bones,
And sent me out to stand alone.
They cursed the truth I had to say,
They struck me down, but I obeyed.
The fire burned through fear and pain,
And every wound declared His name.
Fire in my bones, I can't contain,
A holy weight I must proclaim.
Though tears may fall and strength may flee,
The Word of God still burns in me.
I saw the land become a void,
The sky grow black, the cities destroyed.
A boiling pot from the north would spill,
And all the nations taste His will.
"The Lord shall roar from on high,
and utter His voice from His holy habitation.
He shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes,
against all the inhabitants of the earth.
For the Lord hath a controversy with the nations,
He will plead with all flesh."
If I said, "I will not speak,"
The flame would rise, the silence break.
The day of vengeance draws in near —
The Lord will roar, the earth will hear.
Fire in my bones, I must release,
A voice that wars but will not cease.
The God who formed me called me still —
To speak His wrath, to break, to build.
"Be not afraid of their faces,
for I am with thee to deliver thee,
saith the Lord."
Jeremiah 1:5 & 1:10:
"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations... See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant."
Jeremiah 20:9:
"Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay."
Jeremiah 25:30-31:
"The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout... against all the inhabitants of the earth... for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword."
