20. John the Baptist: The Forerunner 5:47

"A voice crying in the wilderness."
The last prophet and the first witness — John the Baptist stood between Testaments.
He did not claim the light... but pointed all toward the Lamb.

INTRO

"I am the voice...
Of one crying...
In the wilderness.
Prepare... the way of the Lord.
Praise Yah."

VERSE 1

Rough hands... and camel skin...
I walked where silence had no end.
Ash on my tongue, fire in my breath —
Every word... a cry of death.

The trees are warned. The axe is near.
The blade will fall, the threshing clear.
But through the dust... I saw the flame —
The Lamb who'd bear the sinner's name.

VERSE 2

I am not the Christ...
Just a voice.
Not the light...
Just the noise.

From Jordan's edge, I saw Him stand,
Dove descending, voice unplanned.
"This is He..." I said aloud,
The one foretold in fire and cloud.

BRIDGE

Behold...
The Lamb of God...
Who takes away...
The sin of the world...

VERSE 3

He must increase...
And I decrease.
I am the friend who hears His voice —
And now... my joy... is made complete.

OUTRO

He who comes from above...
Is above all.
And to Him...
The Spirit is given... without measure.
