"The Lord is slow to anger, but great in power."
A divine verdict falls on a brutal empire.
Nahum's vision is a stark reminder that even the most powerful kingdoms must answer to the Almighty.

"The burden of Nineveh.
The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and the storm.
The clouds are the dust of His feet..."
Blood on your walls, gold in your halls,
You built your throne on broken bones.
You tore the lands with iron claws,
And mocked the law above all thrones.
But He is watching — slow to burn,
And now... the winds begin to turn.
Your chariots rage, your banners fly,
But every proud thing learns to die.
The lion's den, your sacred place,
Will soon be dust — erased... erased.
"Behold, I am against thee,"
Says the Lord of Hosts.
"I will lift your skirts over your face,
And show the nations your nakedness,
And kingdoms your shame."
You were a city feared by kings,
Your towers roared with warlike wings.
But now the flame has touched the scroll —
And judgment swallows what you stole.
No healer comes.
No balm remains.
Only silence in your veins.
"The Lord is slow to anger...
but great... in power."
Nahum 1:3:
"The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet."
Nahum 1:7-8:
"The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies."
Nahum 3:5:
"Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame."
