Lullaby for the Fallen is a haunting lullaby sung over a condemned angel as he is cast from
heaven into the darkness of the womb — tender in tone, devastating in meaning.

Hush now, little one, do not cry...
Let me tell you of the angel who fell from the sky.
He was put on trial before the throne of light,
For crimes of pride in the endless night.
They took his wings, they stripped his grace,
They removed the starlight from his eyes.
No more to soar, no more to fly...
Just a broken star falling from the sky.
Cast down to the dirt! Cast down to the clay!
Where the holy light violently fades away.
To the dark of the womb, where the shadows creep...
Close your eyes, fallen one... go to sleep.
Ah... Sanctus... Sanctus...
Farewell to the morning star...
Fading into the mortal dark...
Go to sleep...
