4. The Stone Shepherd

The Stone Shepherd is about Raphael escorting a condemned angel from
the Hall of Souls into mortal life—not with comfort, but with cold, dutiful silence.

Track 4: The Stone Shepherd
Verse 1

I was lost in the shimmer...
Dancing with the unborn sparks.
We drifted in the Guf, weightless and free.
We knew no gravity. We knew no pain.
I had almost forgotten the Throne...
I had almost forgotten the trial.

Verse 2

Then... it cut through the silence.
My name.
"Zephoniel."
I froze. The dancing stopped.
I turned back toward the great archway... the Door of Departure.
And there he stood.

Verse 3

Raphael.
But not the brother I knew. Not the Healer with the gentle hand.
He stood in the frame like a statue carved from gray granite.
No light in his eyes. No pity on his lips.
Just a face of stone... void of all expression.
He looked at me... through me.
And he spoke only three words.

"IT... IS... TIME."

Verse 4

The Stone Shepherd calls! The play is done!
The shadows eclipse... the artificial sun!
He motions with a hand... stiff and cold!
To leave the warmth... for the stories untold!
I drift to the door... I cannot resist!
Pulled by the summons... into the mist!

Chorus

Face of Stone! You hide your heart!
You tear the spirit... and the peace apart!
Raphael the Guide! With the iron rod!
Doing the heavy work... of the silent God!
"It is time," he says... "It is time to fall!"
To answer the gravity... of the mortal call!

Bridge

The door shuts tight.
The sparks go dim.
I walk the path.
Alone with him.
ALONE WITH HIM!

Verse 5

We reach the precipice... the end of the light!
The Guf is behind us... ahead is the night!
He looks at me once... his eyes are steel!
He breaks the seal... he turns the wheel!

Outro

He does not look back at the light.
He only looks down.
And so must I.
So must I.
