Zephoniel – Rise From the Ruins
False Christians Denied
TRACK #9
By Thomas J. Allen, © 2025
Watchers giving sword and taking wives
Image: A solemn portrayal of modern false Christianity — religious leaders smile with self-assurance, cloaked in tradition, fame, wealth, and preaches from the Scriptures, but symbolizing twisted doctrine. Surrounding them are mockers, power-hungry voices, and blind followers. In their midst, a true believer stands quietly, eyes closed in prayer, enduring judgment not from the world — but from the very house of God. This is a church overrun with wolves, where the faithful are scorned by those who claim His name but do not know Him.

Verse 1

They built their altars high and gold,
They spoke His name, but hearts grew cold.
A thousand prayers, a thousand lies —
And yet they never truly died.

Verse 2

They cast out demons, claimed His light,
But walked in shadows, loved the night.
They fooled the crowds, they fooled themselves —
But truth can't dwell where idols dwell.

Chorus

False Christians denied — the gates are closed.
They preached His Word, but never chose.
Their works were loud, but love was fake —
Now they tremble, now they break.

Verse 3

"Lord, Lord!" they cry, in fear, in flame.
"We healed, we spoke, we bore Your name!"
But every deed, and every shout,
Was empty — now He casts them out.

Verse 4

Ten virgins stood with lamps held high,
Awaiting Him who'd split the sky.
Five were wise — with oil in store,
The rest were lost... forevermore.

Bridge

The midnight cry — the Groom drew near.
The wise went in, the fools stayed here.
They begged the door, they knocked in vain,
But heard the Judge: "You can't remain."

Bridge 2

You knew the lines, but not His voice.
You played the part, you made your choice.
"Depart from Me," He says with fire,
"You practiced sin, called Me Messiah."

Final Chorus

False Christians denied — too late to run.
The Judge has come, the reckoning done.
Your lips were near, your hearts were stone —
Now face the throne... and stand alone.

Outro

"I never knew you..."
"Depart from Me..."
"And the door was shut..."

Scripture References

Bible Matthew 7:20-23 (KJV): "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 25:1-13 (KJV): "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." James 1:22 (KJV): "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." Titus 1:16 (KJV): "They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." Sources: King James Version (KJV – Holy Bible)
