Zephoniel – Rise From the Ruins
He Walks Among Them
TRACK #3
By Thomas J. Allen, © 2025
Image: A chilling portrayal of Satan walking confidently through modern-day Times Square, his wicked grin veiled in pride as the crowd around him remains oblivious. Horns crowned upon his head, he strides among the distracted — faces lit by phones, eyes dulled by apathy. Billboards of false virtue frame the background while the Accuser weaves unnoticed, echoing the ancient words: "From going to and fro in the earth... I walk among them."
Verse 1
The heavens gathered, the throne ablaze,
Sons of God stood in holy praise.
But silence fell as shadows crept,
A voice of ruin the angels met.
Verse 2
The Lord declared, "From where do you roam?"
He answered cold, "The earth, my home.
To and fro, I walk with pride,
Through fallen men, I move and bide."
Chorus
He walks among them, veiled in flame,
The Accuser speaks in God's name.
A lion loosed, no chain to bind,
He stalks the heart and haunts the mind.
Verse 3
Not cast aside, not yet restrained,
Still roaming earth, where blood is stained.
He waits the day his doom arrives,
But now he feeds on trembling lives.
Bridge
Among the sons, he makes his stand,
Defiant in the courts so grand.
But justice waits, the scroll is sealed —
The fire comes, the truth revealed.
Final Chorus
He walks among them, fierce and sly,
A throne-bound serpent in disguise.
But soon his time will meet its end,
When Heaven's fire descends again.
Outro
"To and fro... up and down... I walk... among them..."
