Zephoniel – Rise From the Ruins
Chains of the Abyss
TRACK #12
By Thomas J. Allen, © 2025
Image: Deep beneath the waters of the great river Euphrates, four fallen angels stand chained in darkness. At the center is Azazel, crowned in defiance — the ancient corrupter of mankind. His eyes burn with rage as he waits the appointed hour. Once Watchers of Heaven, they are now prisoners of divine justice, condemned for their rebellion and sealed in silence since the days of Noah. But the hour draws near... when the chains will break, and the abyss will rise.
Verse 1
Beneath the deep, beyond the flame,
Four bound angels bear no name.
Chained in silence, cursed in time,
Awaiting orders to unleash the crime.
The Euphrates waits — the seal is cracked,
And war and death are riding back.
Pre-Chorus
Prepared for the hour, the day, the year —
To drown the world in wrath and fear.
Chorus
Chains of the abyss — forged in flame,
Holding back the ones to maim.
Ancient powers once cast down,
Now rise to wear a thorned crown.
The pit unlocks, the heavens weep —
The Watchers wake from deathless sleep.
Verse 2
Azazel taught the blades of war,
Led mankind to blood and lore.
Cast to ruin, left to rot —
Now judgment burns, but mercy not.
Their sins still echo through the dust,
But now their doom is fierce and just.
Bridge
Bound in chains of endless night,
For leaving Heaven's holy height.
No stars remain for those who fell —
Just blackest flame and shattered shell.
Breakdown
"Loose the four angels... bound in the great river Euphrates..."
"Prepared for the hour, the day, the month, the year..."
"To slay a third of mankind..."
"And the smoke of the pit... darkened the sun..."
"And the locusts rose with torment..."
Final Chorus
Chains of the abyss — now torn apart,
They rise in fury with frozen hearts.
The age of man begins to fall —
The final trump, the judgment call.
Angels lost in wrath and fire,
Their fate sealed in the lake entire.
Outro
"The high ones on high... shall be gathered in the pit..."
"After many days... they shall be visited..."
"And whosoever was not found... was cast into the lake of fire..."
